lets go surfing now

a few of my fellow giblets and i are going to see danny boy in comox today! it should be fantastic, aside from these three points:
a) it's the long weekend
2) we didn't book a ferry
d) it's going to be a million degrees.
the reason why the temperature matters is because i plan on hiding in the trunk while we pay for the ferry to save us an extra twenty bucks. yup, we're just that cheap. on saturday we're going to 'surf city' tofino to hit the waves and bask in the sun - all to be done while consuming copious amounts of beer. many photos to come, i'm sure!

off topic - isn't it funny how one person or event can change the way you think or feel? it can be inspiring.

where do we go from here?

what is it exactly? who are you and is there really a destination? who planned it? am i even a part of this trip? i know i've certainly fallen. for what? who? for why? if only i had an answer.

i also realized that i listen and enjoy really dorky music. don't get me wrong, i really enjoy good quality music, but i'm a sucker for shitty music - and i don't mean NEW shitty music...i mean shitty music from 20-30 years ago. a guy i work with (cole) told me the other day that he can't believe that i know every single song on the radio pre-1995.

i miss new wave

there's nothing like a little duran duran to lift my spirits. what a garbage weekend its been. thursday was fantastic. though..filled full of booze, bowling, babes, and probably something else that starts with b. spencer ate 10 mcdonalds cheeseburgers in 12 minutes. i've been flu-ish ever since.

my gramps has been in the hospital for the past week for back surgery. it was looking sketchy for a while, but he's coming home tomorrow to live with my parents for a month or more - as long as it takes for him to recover.

and now i'm going to have coffee at 9:30pm and i need to be up at 4am. good luck with that, mr. caffaholic.

i want my ric

so some of you may remember that i ordered a rickenbacker 340 about 3 months ago. for all you music illiterate people, it's an extremly beautiful guitar. when i ordered it, the fine people at long and macquade music (best store ever) told me it would be at their store in 3-4 weeks. well, it's been three months and i'm starting to get frustrated. long and macquade has nothing to do with the shipping process, but i'm just annoyed with rickenbacker. i'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

in better news, travis and i have written a solid 5 songs for our e.p. in november. pre-production begins in august/september and will be recorded at the illustrious greenhouse studios in vancouver, british columbia. i'm hoping i have my ricky before pre-production begins. we're still without a proper band name, so any suggestions are accepted!

breathalyzer

so there i was...driving down boundary road. i could sense the traffic was a little different than usual but continued on with my journey home. i had been out at travis' house this one particular evening, sharing a quick drink and a laugh or two. before i know it, the flashing lights i saw from afar are the lights of the rcmp. of course it was a road block. in all truth and in all honesty, i told the officer i had consumed an alcoholic beverage hours ago. i blew a .34. to fail the breathalizer is .55 or higher. for shits and giggles, i asked him what the most intense reading he's ever had, and he responded with over 500.00, and that for a reading as brutal as that, it would take at least two bottles of whiskey.

that's alotta hooch.

he thanked me for my co-operation and sent me on my way. that was my first run-in with the law. i'm so intense.
