don't give up

it's been a rough past few weeks. however, i'm finding that outdoor exercise and other external positive influences are slowly beginning to change my outlook on life. it feels good to start getting back into shape even though my back is killing me. oh to be a 90 year old 24 year old... anyway, below is a peter gabriel song.

in this proud land we grew up strong
we were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

no fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
but no one wants you when you lose

don't give up
'cos you have friends
don't give up
you're not beaten yet
don't give up
I know you can make it good

though I saw it all around
never thought I could be affected
thought that we'd be the last to go
it is so strange the way things turn

drove the night toward my home
the place that I was born, on the lakeside
as daylight broke, I saw the earth
the trees had burned down to the ground

don't give up
you still have us
don't give up
we don't need much of anything
don't give up
'cause somewhere there's a place
where we belong

rest your head
you worry too much
it's going to be alright
when times get rough
you can fall back on us
don't give up
please don't give up

'got to walk out of here
I can't take anymore
going to stand on that bridge
keep my eyes down below
whatever may come
and whatever may go
that river's flowing
that river's flowing

moved on to another town
tried hard to settle down
for every job, so many men
so many men no-one needs

don't give up
'cause you have friends
don't give up
you're not the only one
don't give up
no reason to be ashamed
don't give up
you still have us
don't give up now
we're proud of who you are
don't give up
you know it's never been easy
don't give up
'cause I believe there's the a place
there's a place where we belong

excuse me officer, i'm a little high...how do i get to 3rd street?

congratulations travis and kattie for birthing a beautiful baby girl, hailey dawn skjolde. so with this being said and done, travis and i won't be rehearsing much for a little while now that he's got a pretty big commitment.

i'm trying out for canadian idol next saturday. i'm so hardcore well, if jacob hoggard can do it, why can't i? abby represent. i've picked my songs that i'm going to dazzle the judges with. i just need to learn the real words to the songs. i will do a powerful and emotion-filled rendition of "whole new world" from the aladdin soundtrack, as well as "fly me to the moon", as my tribute to old blue eyes himself. like i said, i'm so hardcore.

i've also decided that i'm going to go visit krista in toronto-tonto. i've been telling her i'd go see her for years and i just haven't had the chance. in just under 2 weeks, i finally get to meet her friends that i hear so much about, and hopefully get into heathers' pants. while i'm there i might check out canadian music week, which is what i'm telling my boss that i'm doing.

crawl

another song for our band

crawl

call me up baby
do you wanna get high?
you got me floatin babe
so i will satisfy

crawl through your window
gonna make love to you
crawl out your window
when my night is through, yeah

i see you lyin there
all cold and lonely
sexy underwear
the night seems hot and stormy
so tell me what you want
and i will satisfy you

crawl through the window
gonna make love to you
crawl out your window
when my night is through
crawl through your window

packin' your suitcase

this is one of our bluesier songs in trav and my band, the rights

packin' your suitcase

i see you packing your suitcase
sayin you can't handle me no more
there you go packing up that suitcase
sayin you just can't handle me no more
so you're takin the 11:30 bus
i guess it's breakin me in two

cause i got a sweet girl on the side
don't mean i want you less
cause i got a sweet little girl on the side
don't mean i want you you no less
are you sayin it's you or her baby?
well ain't that a crying shame

you say i'm doing you wrong
chasing pretty young girls all over town
you saying i'm doing you oh so wrong
chasing these pretty little women all over this town
if you can't love me baby
i guess it' ain't breakin me in two
