i'm the next wayne gretzky.

spent the past day or so day with evan and jenni yesterday playing video games and watching the canada/switzerland game at the pacific coliseum. thanks for having me over

after watching the canada games, i came back to the fraser valley all hyped up to play hockey for the first time since i was 16 years old. i know i was never the best player on the ice when i actually played in a league, but i knew how to keep up and even throw a few numbers on the board. i suppose after all these years of not playing and kicking 10 new zealanders' asses when i was down in gore, really boosted my ego and set me up for a dramatic fall last night. on my team last night there was a 2010 olympic hopeful and three guys that have been playing together since they were probably 4 years old. i was so exhausted i was ready to go home after 20 minutes. though i had an excellent time, it made me realize two things:

(1) it doesn't pay to get old;
(2) i need to get back in shape.

it was great to have the family there, especially uncle rog and daryl, and i'm glad that candice came to cheer on this old bag of bones. boy, did i ever sleep last night...

i hope you all had a great holiday. i still have 5 more days off. i'm not exactly looking forward to going back but that's life in the big city. today i have to actually start my case studies for my upcoming program at bcit. i should have started weeks ago but i've been too busy to want to start them.

home sweet home

well, i am officially now in my house. i've been here for about 2 weeks already, but things are really starting to come together. aside from my neighbour stealing my mailbox, the fact that the builders still haven't come to complete the paint and problem area touchups, and not having any hot water for the first week, the place is absolutely beautiful. i'll upload photos when i figure out how to work a digital camera.

i hope to see you all at my housewarming party this saturday. i can't wait to see you guys, it's been far too long. those that haven't already can meet my gal!

drive away

this is travis' and my first radio single. it's pretty much our poppiest rocking song. the rest are crazy psychedelic 60's influenced explosions of sound and insanity.
I can see right through you
don’t tease me with those bedroom eyes no more
you’ve been tryin’ to please me
but i won’t be stickin’ round for you no more

‘cause in the morning when you wake up
there's no makeup, baby
the truth is out there, what do you care
you drive me oh so crazy
feed me lies and wipe your eyes
the future's not so hazy
then you steal my keys and drive away

i guess i just can't tell you
how i really feel about you anymore
and though you're standing face towards the door
i know you're smiling even more

in the morning when you wake up
there's no makeup, baby
the truth is out there, what do you care?
you drive me oh so crazy
feed me lies and wipe your eyes
the future's not so hazy
then you steal my keys and drive away
