i'm the next wayne gretzky.
spent the past day or so day with evan and jenni yesterday playing video games and watching the canada/switzerland game at the pacific coliseum. thanks for having me over
after watching the canada games, i came back to the fraser valley all hyped up to play hockey for the first time since i was 16 years old. i know i was never the best player on the ice when i actually played in a league, but i knew how to keep up and even throw a few numbers on the board. i suppose after all these years of not playing and kicking 10 new zealanders' asses when i was down in gore, really boosted my ego and set me up for a dramatic fall last night. on my team last night there was a 2010 olympic hopeful and three guys that have been playing together since they were probably 4 years old. i was so exhausted i was ready to go home after 20 minutes. though i had an excellent time, it made me realize two things:
(1) it doesn't pay to get old;
(2) i need to get back in shape.
it was great to have the family there, especially uncle rog and daryl, and i'm glad that candice came to cheer on this old bag of bones. boy, did i ever sleep last night...
i hope you all had a great holiday. i still have 5 more days off. i'm not exactly looking forward to going back but that's life in the big city. today i have to actually start my case studies for my upcoming program at bcit. i should have started weeks ago but i've been too busy to want to start them.
