the rights

so travis and i finally named our band, 'the rights'. it's been a year in the making and we finally have a name we can agree on. it was also difficult to find a name that hasn't been taken. this name has been taken, but the other group is a german band which isn't very good and doesn't look like there's a record deal any time soon.

i will be making a web site for www.therightsonline.com as soon as i have the time. until such time, check out http://members.shaw.ca/leonardhodgins it's the new home to the vantasy tours! evan and i made a little vantasy tour 2006 video trailer that i hope you can all check out. it took us a long fuckin time.

o' canada

i'd just like to stand up and applaud canadians in their combined efforts to appoint mr. stephen harper as new prime minister of our country. i hope those that voted for the tory win are still as excited about your decision in 12 months as you are now. ok leonard, enough with the sarcasm, cynicism and personal opinion....

interesting fact: according to elections canada, 64.9% (not including newly registered voters on election day) of eligible canadians voted in the federal election. where were the remaining 35.1% of you? here is one of the more interesting comments which i heard when asking if they voted or not:
"my guy won. that's five straight wins. until my guy loses,
i'm not voting."

however, this person did put in the effort to place bets on who was going to win.

for those of you that know me, you know that i'm not a very political person. in fact, i'm quite unlearnded when it comes to politics. however, i feel it is important to at least put in an effort to become familiar with the candidates to have a say in your countrys' future. it's really not that painful, or even time consuming.

i wish stephen harper the best of luck with his undertaking. this should be an interesting term(s)

i want to drown in the stories you tell

about a year ago i would have laughed at you if you told me you liked glass tiger and/or honeymoon suite.

however, last night you would have laughed at me because i knew almost every word to every glass tiger song they performed at the commodore ballroom. my my, how times and opinions change.

not a chance, homeslice

sorry dan for stealing your header, but that guy was just too fucking funny...

i watched the chronicles of narnia this past weekend with candice, i found the answer. J.R.R. Tolkien published the hobbit in 1937. C.S. Lewis published the lion, the witch and the wardrobe in 1950. J.R.R. Tolkien followed up to the hobbit with the lord of the rings in 1954-55. who was the winner? peter jackson beat mark johnson speaks by at least 5 years. it's a tough call, really. i say tolkien/jackson. anybody care to debate? anybody really even care?

back to work. wow i can't say i missed it. it was definately a treat to have those two weeks off. i've been thinking a lot about what i've accomplished and what i want to accomplish in life, and i know damn well that making ice cream is not on that list. i think i'm going to go back to school. i've been saying it for a while, but i'm really serious this time.
